You have been planning your day for so long, and now it finally arrives. Everyone looks fantastic, there is an emotional charge in the air, it's all going to plan, but what you can't plan is what is so important. That tear in the eye of a parent, the first glimpse that the groom has of his beautiful bride and the look on his face, the little smiles that go between Dad and Daughter as he gives his baby away, none of this you can plan. Sometimes its not even things you will see on the day, but you will feel it.
It's my job as a professional photographer to capture these emotions and to tell the story of your wedding day. It's not just about how you look or who was there but the magic is to capture how you feel.
The majority of my photos are things that are just happening on the day, not posed, not made up, not created, but what is actually happening. Don't get me wrong, some images you need to help along a bit and so posed photos have their place, but they don't need to take over the entire day. You should be enjoying your day, not spending most of it being positioned.
In saying that, you still need to allow time devoted to creating some very beautiful images, but it doesn't need to take over the entire wedding. About an hour is all you need to do some magazine styled images that will compliment the photojournalistic images from the rest of the day.
The story of your wedding has many characters, with you and your partner in the leading role. But this is also a story about your family, your friends, and how they are helping you celebrate your love and commitment to each other. They all have a place in telling the story of your special day. We (me and my assistant) become pseudo family for the day and play a specific role, to document this story. I treat every wedding that I photograph as though you are one of my own family getting married. I really love using my gift of photography to give you images that you will still love when you bring out the album at your 50th Anniversary. That's what wedding photography is all about.
I don't photograph weddings on consecutive weekends, if you book me for my wedding I will not book another wedding the weekend before, during or after yours. I want to be focused on just your wedding and put the time and effort needed into ensuring you have a fantastic coverage.
I don't have packages but I do have a menu of items that you can choose from. It's hard to know what you will want until you have actually seen your photos. You might want proof prints, or electronic proofs, or a coffee table book, or a traditional album. You will get to see all the different possibilities before the wedding so you can talk about what might be the right option for you.
Cost will vary depending on how many hours you will need me. Prices start with a 6 hour minimum coverage: $1800 for my services and an additional $1800 which acts as a credit toward your order after the wedding. I also offer a gift registry which is proving to be a popular gift idea for couples.
